Hotel Elephant Gallery is
thrilled to announce the launch of its new shop and coffee bar on Newington Causeway,
SE1.
In this new space Hotel Elephant Gallery will provide a
platform and shop window for Southwark designer-makers and artists, giving them
the opportunity to sell their work in their neighbourhood. We will also be including works by makers
from outside the borough. Hotel Elephant Gallery hopes this will forge the
beginnings of a diverse network of artists and makers from across London
enriching the cultural life of the Elephant and Castle.
The shop will be open daily,
where visitors can enjoy a coffee, browse and purchase artworks. This intimate
space will host a range of events catering for the local residents, students
and newcomers to the area; complimenting and running alongside the programme of
exhibitions and events held in Hotel Elephant’s 15,000sqft gallery, event &
hireable space, also located on Newington Causeway.
Hotel Elephant Gallery will provide training opportunities
for young people with an interest in pursuing higher education or a career in
the arts.
On the 13th of December, 6-9pm, Hotel Elephant is
inviting visitors to join them for a drink, enjoy some musical and celebrate
arts and culture within Southwark.
