Opening night see's 120 people venture to the Heygate Estate!

The Private View of 'The Tomb and The Fountain' was a runaway success! We counted 120 people that ventured out on that cold January evening last Friday (25th) to experience our first SLAM Last Friday on the Heygate Estate. As well as our neighbours, visitors came from all over, with Goldsmith's, UAL & Westminster students, an Estonian sculpture course and a very healthy SLAM tour (and those are just the ones i spoke to!) We where thrilled to welcome such an interesting crowd to our unconventional spot and had a such a positive reaction to the space, the project and the show.

We are looking forward to building on this success so watch this space!

The Tomb and The Fountain

In his first solo exhibition in London, Portuguese artist Rui Ferreira presents an installation which celebrates transformation, death and rebirth in a dance between real and imagined, chaos and form. Featuring large-scale architectonic elements built from found wood, assembled objects and enigmatic photographic prints.

Myths and classical narratives are combined with perambulations in cemeteries, gardens and domestic spaces, as newly-dreamed narratives emerge.

Robbie (Josh Bolt) and Ziggy (Eugene Byrne) think they'll be best mates forever, but when Robbie collapses on holiday and is diagnose with a fatal heart condition, forever seems a lot shorter. Lying in the children's ward, Robbie only has one thing on his mind: he doesn't want to die a virgin - and the only one who can help him achieve his goal is his best friend Ziggy. A truly hilarious and heartfelt British film!

The Be All and End All is being screened at Hotel Elephant in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital. A suggested donation of £2.50 to see the film will be collected on the night, with all proceeds from the film being donated to GOSHCC.

We are pleased to present a great opportunity to pick the brains of local Director Bruce Webb, who will be conducting a Q&A session after the film.
